After five intense days in the trenches of style, our scout Patty Bouley reports back with the decor trends to watch from Paris' hottest furnishings fair. When it comes to home decor, Maison & Objet is on the cutting-edge of style. The colors, textures, shapes, and motifs that surface at Paris’ premier bi-annual home furnishings always shape trends for months to come. And as result, designers, buyers and chic-seekers arrive by the thousands. This year the design halls were hung with incredible fuchsia banners, a sure clue that bright saturated colors are catching on. Neutrals made themselves known with dynamic new textures. Whimsy, romance, and pop expression defied the economic gloom. Themes of nature, raw materials, graphic patterns, and bold colors still held strong, but there were plenty of new looks on the rise.
